Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common, condition of the digestive system, that can cause bouts of stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhea and/or constipation.
Having suffered for 20 years with IBS until I found nutritional and colonic therapy, I can empathise with anyone who has this debilitating condition. Prior to my recovery I’d had many hospital visits, with many procedures and medication that didn’t work, only to be told that everything was normal. It clearly wasn’t and I got fed up with getting nowhere, so I decided to treat myself instead.

More often than not IBS is caused by either a parasite, fungal infection, SIBO, or food intolerance. These can all be ruled out with diagnostic tests and a protocol devised to see you back into good health in no time. IBS is thought to affect up to one in five people at some point in their life, and it usually first develops when a person is between 20 and 30 years of age. Around twice as many women are affected as men.
Symptoms of IBS vary between individuals and affect some people more severely than others. They tend to come and go in periods lasting a few days to a few months at a time, often during times of stress or after eating certain foods.

It is thought that around 75% of people with IBS have SIBO, small intestinal bacteria overgrowth. There are specific tests available to ascertain this. Or a low FODMAP diet can be followed to see if this improves symptoms.
